Xeloda Questions
Looking for someone who is or has taken the drug Xeloda. Is it for recurrence or is it a first line drug? What are the side effects, knowing everyone is different. This is for my DIL, age 42,recurrence after five years clear. She has mets to the liver and leshions on her bones. I think she was stage 2 invasive, estrogen positive in the beginning. I am just trying to educate myself and see if I can help. BTW, I'm Debrajo from over at the Uterine board, stage 1a, grade c. Thanks in advance everyone! Keep the dream! Debra

Hello:
I am also butting into the breast cancer board. If you pop over to the Colorectal Cancer board, you will find that almost everyone on there has been on Xeloda. Many are on the pill form. My husband was on the infustion. Also, there is a pump they use, a 48 hour pump, that you wear around your waist that infuses very small amounts over 48 hours then you go back in and take the pump off. The pump is about the size of a transister radio. Hopefully, I am not getting things confused as it has been a few years.
Anyway, jump on over to the colorectal board, the people there are very willing to answer any questions you have in an honest manner.
Best Wishes - Tina

Hi Tina! Thanks so much for the info! My DIL is on the pills for now, but the pump sounds really good. Bless her heart, she has a weak stomach...don't know how much she can ingest. I will head on over to the other board and see what I can find. Love your avatar!!!! Debra
