NED!!!
I haven't been on here for a while but wanted to check in and share my good news. 3 years ago this week I started my treatment for my cancer. 35 radiation and 3 rounds of Cisplatin. Today I got the results from my Cat Scan that I had done yesterday and it was all clear. NED. Saw the radiation oncologist and medical oncologist and they were both very pleased. No scan for a year this time. I am so thankful.

I am feeling fairly good. I
I am feeling fairly good. I don't have the energy I used to but that could just be old age, lol. I would say my taste is about 75% of what I had before. Some things (chocolate esp) still don't taste right so I am guessing that is my new "normal" Saliva is still not good. Take Salagen routinely, use Act Mouthwash for dry mouths with fluoride and use sugar free mints along with my constant buddy, a bottle of water. I have a lot of muscle spasms in my neck, take Flexeril prn for that. But aside from all of that, I am good! I am here and I am thankful for that. I have a little pity party for myself ever so often and then kick myself in the butt and move on. I have been truly blessed that I am cancer free at this time, I am here to watch my grandchildren grow up. I have got to go on vacations with family and friends. And I am here to help the love of my life, my husband, who stood by my side thru it all as his vision is failing more and more every day. It breaks my heart but I am so glad that God has seen fit to let me be here to help him.Hope you are doing well Phrannie.

Great News!
We're right behind you...just hit 2 1/2 yrs! Have you tried Dark Chocolate? Not sure if you've ever liked it, but it doesn't seem to have changed in taste nearly as bad. It's some of the sugary things that we notice the taste is off.
Thanks for checking in with us! Nice to know some of the peeps that were on the same bus are doing well.

Oh good. I'm not the only one who thinks dark chocolate still tastes okay. Other sweets just don't tempt me anymore. All other food tastes fine. That's one blessing to come out of having cancer!

It has been a while, I am glad you stopped by and shared your good news. One year scans puts you right around the corner of the 5 year mark. Don't threat over the chocolate thing, my theory is keep practicing like I did with choclate licorice. It took about 3 years but I acquired my craving back.
