breast cancer to the bone
Hi I am 56 and a survivor of 2 lumpectomies and a mastectomy due to Breast cancer. 5 years ago. Now I am dealing with pain in the right Breast area for the past 6 months. This is where the cancer was and I had a Tram Flap reconstruction. I have completed all tests for breast cancer and came out great..no tumors!!! I really thought it was done. But went to oncologist yesterday. He asked alot of questions...pain is worse especially at night but hurts most the time now. This pain has been 6 months now. The docor has ordered bone scan and ct test. My breast cancers were receptor negetive so no hormone therapy here. I am scared the cancer is back and tired of thinking about all i went through and posibly would go through again if this turns out bone mets.

Good luck...!
It sounds like your Oncologist is on top of things. I'm glad you're getting the Bone Scan and CT scan.....If it IS cancer, it sounds like it has been caught early and can be dealt with pronto. Think positive. Medicine has come a long way and perhaps spot radiation can take care of this. I'm wishing you nothing but good luck and lots of prayers that you can and will get over this hurdle.

Your scans......
Hi Michele.....How did you make our with your CT and Bone scans? I have bone mets and just had these same scans this past Wednesday. I see my Oncologist on the 17th and will hear how they came out.....But, just to let you know, I'm ER+ and did NOT respond well with hormonal therapy....so now I'm on Xeloda...a chemo pill....This is my 3rd day on them.....I only hope and pray that they work better than the hormonal therapy I was on......I believe that there are other treatments if the Xeloda doesn't do the trick. I have to think positive, and so do you! Keep us posted......It's unbelievable how many of us have different types of breast cancer and are on our own unique treatments......I pray for all of you every night that improvement comes.......Kats2

Hi Kats2,
I just read your reply and like you I have bone mets but just the opposite treatment. I was 1st put on Xeloda and it didn't do a thing. Then, I was put on Arimidex and the lung cancer was gone and my bone mets were dormant. I also get an Xgeva shot that's really good and has so many benefits.
Missy
And yes, keeping Michelle in prayers.

It's been a while since you posted this...
in the area where I had the lumpectomy mine hurts too. It swells up a lot too. It's been 6 years for me. Now my RBC has been dropping and I just had a marrow biopsy 2 weeks ago. Still waiting for results. I think waiting is the worst.
