Recurrance in lung / treatment update
Hi everyone, hope all are able to find moments of peace, laughter and healing along this road! In January I was dx with a recurrance of anal cancer in my lung. The mass was large but surgically removed by the removal of my left lower lobe. (I was initially dx a little over 4yrs ago with Stage3b anal cancer followed by a dx of breast cancer)
After healing from surgery which I must say went surprisingly quick, I began a course of chemo every 3wks beginning in March. (5FU/Cisplatin)
Yesterday my pump was disconnected as it was HOPEFULLY my last chemo treatment!! I will be scanned in June and that will truely determine if more action is needed, but my doctor is very confident that I am in a good place, as am I. I am still feeling tired and today yet a bit queasy, which for me is usually followed by a few days of mouth sores.....but feel soooooooo good to be "pump free" !!
My daughter was married on May 9th, and my chemo schedule was adjusted to have me feeling mostly well for the weekend.....I felt GREAT! The weather was absolutely perfect and the day went off without a hitch. The flowers (done my yours truely) were amazing if I do say so! The happy couple is now in Cancun.....oh how I wish I was in Cancun myself.
Anyway....I wanted to let you all know that I made it through and whatever the scans say in June I know I will make it through that as well because I have you all with me....through the good, bad, and ugliness of this whole thing!
Thankyou all for prayers, concern, and support.....it means so much more than I can say!

Yours is the second happy post I am reading first thing this morning and it fills my heart with joy! I am so glad you are done and not too worse for the wear. You and your doctor sound confident that the beast is gone and I hope you will get confirmation of that on your upcoming scan. Between now and then, I will be thinking all positive thoughts for you and keeping you in my prayers. Rest up and recover.
I'm so glad the wedding was beautiful and such an enjoyable event for you. I know you were worried about not feeling good, but it sounds like the side effects gave you a break.
Take care!

Continued prayers,

So glad to see your post! I think about you often & admire how well you cope with your situation.
Good to hear the chemo regime is done & that hopefully you can now regather your strength.
Wishing you an easier time
