Lorraine

7 weeels of chemo in the books. CA-125 level was originally 8,000, currently at 1,124. Still a high number, but down a lot. Eating well and staying somewhat active. Eleven weeks of chemo to go!

Just wanted to give an update. Hope all is well with everyone.

Warm wishes for you and Lorraine

Bob, we welcome hearing from you on the uterine board and thank you for checking in. Lorraine is responding well to the chemo as judged by the tremendous drop in her CA 125 and improved appetite. How is she feeling? Is she still working? Please gently encourage her to exercise daily- walking is always good. How are you doing, Bob? You have been a unmoving pilar of strength and encouragement for your spouse . It's a testament of how deeply you love and treasure Lorraine. How fortunate she is!

    Warm hugs to you both,

    Cathy

    thank you

thanks for the kind words, Abby! Lorraine is feeling pretty darn good. Her appetite is fantastic. Still not back to work, her job involves alot of standing and driving. Hopefully that's somehting that happens sooner than later. Her weight is going up, she's not thrilled about that, but I tell her it's a good thing. I will tell her about exercising, even if she just walks more. Talk to you ladies soon.

    So glad to see this!

I keep both of you in my prayers. Like Cathy said, keep moving around And walking is the best.  Bob, I so appreciate your openness with us.  My husband is more guarded, probably because he is scared.  And he has been amazing.  When I see your posts it makes me think about the questions he has and how we are in this together.

For lorraine, just remember that all of the sideeffects are temporary.  we always planned something fun for the weekend right before my next treatment just to mark the milestone and getting one step closer.  It was good for us, even if was beat I somehow rallied for those nights out.

Please give her our best here and the same to you too.  Keep us posted!  Sending healing vibes and strength!  Anne

    I completely understand your

I completely understand your husband being scared, honestly, I'm scared too. There are moments when I lose it, it's overwhelming. I have found that this message board is a form of therapy. Good luck to you and your husband, keep fighting.

I breathe a sigh of relief!!!!

I am so happy to hear she is doing so well.  Tell her don't worry about weight now, later she will take care of that.  so happy to hear she is eating and feeling well.  I can't believe she is thinking of work.  That is a good sign.  take care of yourself too.

    Lorraine really is blessed to

Lorraine really is blessed to have a husband that is trying to understand what she is going through. You are going through this with her. I am sure Lorraine appreciates everything you do for her. It seems to me that not enough people take the wedding vow of in sickness and in health seriously, but it is obvious that you do. Cancer effects not only the person that has it, but all of their family, especially their spouse. My husband and I are praying for both of you that she will continue feeling better everyday! I know caregivers can often feel helpless, but it seems like you are doing everything you can to understand what Lorraine is battling so that you are equipped to battle it right next to her. My husband has been every bit as supportive since I was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer almost 8 months ago and I am grateful! The cancer battle would be so much worse being married and feeling like you were going through it alone. I thank God for all of the wonderful and supportive husbands and wives out there that are battling anything right there together!

    halw way there

Lorraine finished her ninth week of her scheduled 18 of chemo yesterday. They scheduled a CT-Scan for next week to see how she's progressing. We're still a little concerned about her stomach getting bigger. Is it possible tumors can reoccur during weekly chemo treatments? We're hoping it's part of her stomach healing from the surgery, but she can't help think the worse sometimes. Besides the stomach issue, everything else seems great, Ca 125 count is still dipping, energy level is up, wounds from surgery are finally healing and she's staying active. After her weekly chemo apointment next Monday, she goes to Buffalo to see the Dr who performed the surgery, he'll give us the update on everything. I feel like she's come so far since her diagnosis, just hoping he agrees. I hope everyone is doing well.
