after treatment
Hi all!
I just wanted to start off by thanking all of you for the support through this whole ordeal! i truly feel this site kept my sanity and enabled me to.be the the rock my mom needed. When i talk with family and friends about this site i try to explain to them how i am more of a true story, real life person for advice rather than a facts statistics website. My mom is 3 weeks out from treatment after 1 week in the hospital and 1 week bedrest she made it down to key west where she and my dad have a house so its comfortable for her (not like a hotel). Though she says she feels better she says she is still very raw in the "crack" area And extremely fatigue? She does have bouts of diarrhea but is managing ok. Her first follow up is April 27th!

Thanks for the update on your mom! I'm so glad to hear she made it to Florida okay for some R & R, which, after this brutal treatment, is well-deserved. I hope the warmth and sun will aid with her healing.
As for this site, I do not believe there is anything better than the sharing of information and knowledge by those who have actually been through this ordeal. The doctors and nurses can give suggestions, but only second-hand and not from personal experience.
Your mom will continue to improve, it just takes some time. I hope she will not let anything, such as the bouts of diarrhea, discourage her. Her insides are still not very happy right now, but she will be SO much better as time goes on. I wish her all the best and hope you'll give us an update after her follow-up on the 27th. Take care.

Hey Swood,
You sound so muchHey Swood,
You sound so much like me when I was supporting my mum, being a rock etc. Courage to you. Well done and trust me, the 27th will be here soon enough. We're still only about 6 months post treatment, things get better, believe me.
Good luck for the 27th,
Adam
