    Just thinking good

    Just thinking good thoughts...

    I believe that positive

I believe that positive thinking (frame of mind)  is a big help in this whole cancer journey.  Sure, there are some down times; but it's always a good idea to pick oneself up and get going.

I have a bro-in-law, not a cancer survivor, who is wasting his life away as he hits age 70.  It is as if he is just sitting around, waiting to die.  What a waste of life!  He basically stays home all of the time and much of that time he spends in his special room at the house.

I do not want to be like that.  I might have some down moments, but I do not want them to dominate my thinking.  I think that my new outlook on life since my initial battle with cancer has been more positive.  It has changed me in a good way.

    Attitude of gratitude

Ditto desertgirl!  I had a good attitude before I had cancer the first time 6 years ago. I did not need cancer to boost that.  However, since then with the help of my sister-in-law who is an author about this, an attitude of gratitude helps keep my focus positive.  It's tough to do when the cancer has recurred, 6 years later, after I did all the treatments needed.  I have my dark days.  But then I read my Positive Focus journal to get back on track. Being positive won't keep the cancer away, but it will make you feel better about it.

    Actually, my bro-in-law has

Actually, my bro-in-law has been a cranky guy for years.  In the years I have known him (20+), he has led an rather odd life.  No job (his choice).  Dabbling in an assortment of religious faiths.  Purposely making verbal digs at family members (extended) just to stir up trouble -- although he does not do this to my husband and I, as he likes us.  He is an unhappy man
