Hi, I had 6 dilatations after my surgery. I was coughing constantly until I had this procedure.I hope this helps.
How are you doing now? Do you still need dilatation? Husband had dilatation 2 mths after surgery and lasted for 8 days only. It is very frustrating and scary. How long did your dilatation last?

Hi,
I had 4 dilations within the first 4 months after surgery.
The anastomosis is scar tissue, It is going to try to shrink as it heals.
You just have to keep going in a stretching it.
Dilations do have small risks, but none of mine were dangerous.
You may even have 1-2 more as you get out to months 9 and 10.
I always have them give some propophol and I am out, relaxed and let them do their jobs.
