Miss Ellie is NED
Hi everyone,
I just wanted to post our good news. We went to see the oncologist today and Mom was discharged from his care. It will be 5 years in March when she was diagnosed and he said she was cancer free! She will need to have blood work once a year and a colonoscopy every 5 years, but no more pet scans or office visits.
This board has meant so much to us (especially me as Mom never came on). So many have helped with my questions at the beginning of this journey and have offered support along the way. Thank you all. I don't post much but think of you all. Mom continues to say her "p's" for everyone here. I think this board will be permanently with me and I will continue to check here often.
For the new people here who don't know us, Mom (Miss Ellie) was diagnosed with colorectal cancer back in 2010. She had chemo and radiation before her permanent colostomy and then more chemo and radiation. She has handled all of this so well and I'm happy to report is doing great today with no permanent side effects. Oh, and she will turn 84 this year
I hope I haven't hurt anyones feelings with our good news. I know how much pain and sorrow is on this board. But wanted to brings a little cheer and encourage maybe someone.
Thanks for listening and better health to everyone.
Sincerely,
Linda and Mom (Miss Ellie)

What wonderful news. Give your mum the biggest hug from me.
I think this deserves a Dancing and a Spinning man in celebration.
Go Miss Ellie! WOO HOO!
And celebrations to you, too, Linda. What a loving daughter you are. I am so glad that you have stayed with the forum throughout. HUGS!
