Did I miss the bus? I think
Did I miss the bus? I think we get more scared about things after first diagnosis because we know more what is going to happen. The first time it is all unknown and you aren't really taking it all in. That doesn't mean it's cancer again though. On the contrary, if you got radiation where you feel the lump, I think it will be ok. My surgeon says it is the least likely area for recurrence. In any case, take a deep breath and just wait for the results. There is nothing you can possibly do to change what the doctor will say. Hoping for the best for you, Anna

Fat migration
Oh my dear Lord, I am so grateful. The lump on my radiated sided was fat migrating out of the diep flap reconstruction. The breast surgeon did an unbelievable exam and ultrasound and was absolutely convinced it was not a local recurrence. He said to forget about it unless I wanted to go the plastic surgery route. I do not. I just want to heal from this terrribly horrible scare. Wish the onco was a little more upbeat about it before he referred me to the surgeon. When I asked him if he tought it was not cancer he said "that is not what I said". Doctors! Can't live with them, can't live w/o them.
Thanks for all of your support. It was my lifeline.

What a relief. Fear can be so paralyzing. I'm glad you can relax and breathe easy.
