Melanoma Cancer
Hello, I am a Melanoma Cancer Survivor. I have been through 3 surgeries, radiation, Yervoy treatments and have fought the battle since 2001. I am looking to be a support to those going through the disease, or family members of the Cancer patient. Please share your thoughts or stories on here. Have a Blessed Day

my son has melanoma
My son had a mole removed and it was melanoma, they said they got it all but then a year later a lump appearaed and he had that removed and it was melanoma in his lymph node so now He is going to have surgery to have his lymph nodes removed in his arm pit. The doctor said that there was no other sign of the melanoma but they are removing his lymph nodes as a precautionary measure and to check to see if there is any melanoma in these lymph nodes. Just wondering if anyone has gone through this. thanks

When you are going throw any
When you are going throw any stage of the cancer looking to the survival ratio or benefit ration of treatment. Many patients try to run for all the possible treatment like allopathy, radiation, herbal treatment. You must follow yourself to the best treatment along with well diagnosis.

First of all, I can not tell you how many people have told me that their doctor removed a mole that was melanoma and not to worry because it is all gone! Melanoma can reoccur at any time and essentually where it wants to. Mine was discovered in my left axillary nodes (unknown origin) and I was immediatly set up for a PET scan and then surgery to remove the lymph nodes. I had 26 removed with 2 of 26 being positive. Has your son had any type of scans? A PET scan should be first! Any melanomas he currently has will light up like a christmas tree. He should then be started on Interfuron treatment, usually lasts for a year. In the mean time he should also be having a CT and MRI every three months to check for any metastatic involvement.
I learned the hard way! I was having a terrible time with whole body tremmors, stuttering, and finally the inabillity to drive or keep my job. My Oncologist didn't know what to do with me, so basically all my symptoms were ignored! I finally went to MD Anderson in Houston TX and was immediately diagnosed with metastatic cancer in my brain.
Find an Oncoligist who understands Melanoma!! Do not continue with a doctor that Ever tells you all is well and not to worry. I do not want to scare you but it is imperative that you educate yourself about this cancer. Don't focus on the survival rates! Focus on the proper treatments and precautions that must be taken to discover the cancer as soon as possible if it has spread.
I would be happy to try to answer any questions you may have. Good luck and remain dilligent!!

Survivor & still fighting
I was diagnosed 12 years ago, at the age of 24. I had a biopsy last week and the doc thinks this may be squamous cell. I've seen this doc for 13 years, and I've never seen him react the way he did. It has me a bit spooked....

My awesome husband
My husband is a true fighter I truely believe he is going to beat this. Stage 4 melenoma. Tumer on his lung, stomach, pancress and on his groin muscle. His first treatment was last wednesday of vervoy and a experimental drug. He is real tired, night sweats now getting a rash and itchy. His spirits are low with the rash that came over. I tell him to keep his head up he is doing great. I was reading a blog on here and read that soap with goats milk and a anti itch lotion called Sarna may help. So I ordered it on Amazon. I bought a juicer and a pressure cooker. making natual juice and veggie soups. eating light stuff fish and lots of veggies. His appiete is not good so the juice is great. I pray for a miracles everyday. Staying strong. I'm in this too!!
