My sister had her surgery Jan 6 and did extremely well. She came home from the hospital today. I will be having my bilateral mastectomy on Thurs Jan 15. He will take the sentinal node on the right side. The right side biopsy indicated noninvasive, but he wants to check just in case. The left side is triple negative stage 3c, and he indicated he would take several nodes from that side. Having done all my preop stuff this week, I'm really ready to get this behind me. Also, I threw a massive pulmonary embolism 12 years ago after surgery, so I was really concerned about that. I will be giving myself Lovenox injections for the first two weeks after surgery. That takes a huge load off my mind.
