Consistent Pain Meds/ Magic mouth wash?
Hi,
My husband's been having severe radiation burn as well. He is not done with his treatment yet, and I was really hoping 3 weeks after treatment, radiation burns would be not such a big issue!
So far, applying magic mouth wash topically on the sores/burns just before eating takes the edge off for him. Also taking Pain meds (oxycodone, Ibruprofen, Tylenol) consistently every 4-6 hours also helps a bit for him. He is also only drinking Boost VHC these days. Anything sour, acidic or spicy were burning his tongue a lot.
I really hope your husband feels better soon!

Have you tried Magic
Have you tried Magic Mouthwash? It's a blend of three ingredients mixed for you at the pharmacy. It does burn a little at first, but then it numbs the area. You can dab it on with a swab if you don't want the whole mouth numb. There is also MuGard by Onco Source, but it is really expensive. It burns, too, but it is supposed to protect the mucus membranes and tongue. The cheapest treatment is from your kitchen. Mix baking soda and salt in a glass of warm water and swish. I hope you find an answer soon.
