Ureaplasma urealyticum during chemo
Hello,
I was diagnosed with stage II Hodgkin's about two months ago.
I have been receiving ABDV every two weeks; so far, I have had three rounds. I will have a PET CT in mid-January to see if the cancer is gone. I f so, I will have radiation therapy.
I am trying my best to be positive. I know that Hodgkin's responds well to treatment, there is a good chance that I will be cured and possibly in as little as three months.
So I have managed not to complain about immediate side effects of chemo.
However, since my diagnosis I have been extremely worried about possible long term effects.
As if this wasn't enough, it turns out I have Ureaplasma urealyticum; which is an STD.
My doctor says treatment is safe during chemo.
But I can't help myself; I am worried sick!
Has anybody else had this problem while on ABVD?
How did you deal with it?
What type of treatment did you receive?
Did you experience any immediate/long term problems?
I do understand that everybody responds to treatment in their unique way. I just need to hear someone else's story...
