Scan results tomorrow... so scared
Been very stressed of late waiting for results of my CT Scan after 3cycles of ABVD..... (Stage 1A HL) Never thought it cld b this hard. 2moro i get results. so scared!
The lumps in my neck have gone and i know chemo should have worked but i keep expecting the 'body-blow' that my diagnosis was to me! Is my fear completely irrational? After getting the worst possible news that u do have cancer i guess its hard to be optimisic; even when that optimism is justified!
Asking for your prayers

Hi Amanda. "Scanxiety" is very normal so you are definitely not alone there . Try to keep yourself distracted. Sending you warm thoughts for great results!
Hugs and pants,
I'm so sorry you are so stressed. I know how you feel tho. It sounds like you are doing well and I am sure everything will be good. I never used to get stressed with Bill's scans until he relapsed. Now I'm a wreck every time . Please let us know how it goes tomorrow. We are thinking of you and hoping so much for a positive outcome. I want to thank you so much for your kind words in your other post. Try to relax until tomorrow when I am sure you will hear good news.
Our best to you and your family,
Becky & Bill

Hello Amanda:
I know how you feel, a scan is a very "nervous-making" thing. It sounds as if the chemo has worked and your news should be good. Let us all know.
Jim posts very good, cheery animal photos. I will try with a very short video clip. This video is very good and has a happy ending. Baby Elephant outwits 14 Lionesses:

Hi Amanda,
I have seen your strength from your first posts. Just think about how far you have come. I am sure that it has been very difficult but remember that you are not alone.
I think keeping busy is a very good idea. I know I have been so full of anxiety no matter if it's a scan , treatment , shot , blood work , or check up.
If you don't have anxiety meds It might be something to ask about. It was mentioned to me by Jim and it has saved my behind.
Stay strong ♡
Please keep us updated.
Sending you a great big hug.

Scanxiety
It is a very common thing and we all go through that. I'm from the colorectal board only on here because of my brother's recent diagnosis and I've been where you are at - especially the first couple scans. It just takes your breath away. That's all you think about night and day. I'm praying every day for all of you on these message boards. All our lives have changed with those three words "you have cancer" and forevermore, we will always wonder. I'm thinking the best will be your outcome.

I also take Anxiety Meds, "Ativan" and "Lexapro." Don't know what I would do without them. Am stressed out frequently and the stress gets me in the stomach. Trouble is, sometimes the pills make me sleepy.

Just watch Jim's cute doggie when you are waiting on the doc, and all will be fine ! Look at that mug ! Dogs lower blood pressure and create a relaxed sense in nearly eveyone.

Have been praying for you and your hubby every day. You are on my prayer list along with a bunch of others in this little famly of warriors. Sounds like the chemo is working!!! Remember, Philipians 4:6-7. God gave me peace even during some of the more intense moments. I've been reading all the comments and see that your working out has slowed down. That's what happended to me too and it was ok. You have to listen to your body. Sometimes it needs all the energy it has to deal with the chemo etc. I can tell you this, once you start up agian, the first few workout are tough. But stick with it because after about two weeks, things got better quickly. Don't focus on too much. One day at a time. And anytime you feel good enough to get up, get up and get out, even if it is just to walk around the mall (if it's cold where you are). Thanks for the great news!!!!

Now you can get on with your life. We are so happy for you. Of course, you will always have it in the back of your mind, but keep it there and move forward. Use your experience for positive things. It will help you to be more compassionate to others, especially those dealing with negative circumstances. For now though I think I sense a big celebration in your near future .
Our very best to you and your husband,

Hi Amanda,
I'm so happy to hear the good news, especially when I felt worse than any other day so far from the beginning of my treatment and this brings so much optimism. You're lucky you were able to do your bootcamp classes and very soon you will continue them. I used to exercise regularely (even during pregnancy) but then I had the C-section and I had to actually learn how to walk again. Tried going back to the GYM few weeks after I got a little better but came back crying, couldn't do even the most basic stuff so now that I'm getting closer to the end of my treatment , I simply can't wait to feel better and start exsercising again. I agree with you that it makes you feel better.
Go celebrate and get yourself something as a reward!
Be well and keep in touch, please.
