Update from Laz

Dear Friends,

I was away for a couple of weeks looking for work after more than a year of hiatus. I was going to interviews, working interviews like crazy and far away, because there is  no dentist jobs where I live. Finally I have work 4 days a week even though it's 1 hour 45 minuts away. I was excited and anxious to start at the same time. Excited because I love what I do, but anxious because of my sore hips from radiation and my colostomy. There are challenges, but doing ok. Now that things are getting back to normal I'll be back on the forum more often.

All the best,

Laz

    Hi Laz!

I have missed you and thought about you many times, hoping that all was well.  It's so great to hear from you.  I'm glad to hear you have a job, but sorry the commute will be lengthy.  I'm sure it will be good to get back to doing what you love and I hope you will not have any issues that will complicate things for you.  You have certainly faced all of your challenges head-on and I know if something should arise, you can deal with it.  I'm so glad you are doing okay and I hope Mrs. Laz is doing well also.  I will certainly look forward to seeing you here more often.  Good luck with your new job and take care!

Good to see you moving on! The commute sounds lengthy though. When I used to travel further afield with work I enjoyed listening to audio books. In fact, now with a short commute I miss that listening time.

I am sorry that you too have sore hips, but I think it goes with the territory. Can you split your days so you can have a rest midweek?

Looking forward to seeing you here more often. You have been missed!

Best wishes to both you & Mrs Laz

    Suggestion.

Is it possible to get a compression garment made for support of your sore hip structures, like lymph edema sufferers get or basketball players? Have an opening put in to accommodate the colostomy. Also, make sure you have excellent shoe prostethics custom made, if need be, to keep your body in ergonomic alignment. They'll keep your feet happier, your knees, and your hips. See a local specialized runner's store (not the mall places) or the medical supply store.
