Any help dealing with a chronic cough?

I was diagnosed last year with stage 3b NSCLC squamous cell. I have been coughing for almost 2 years now and was curious if anyone has come across anything that helps to alleviate it. I currently take oxycodone to supress it but that doesn't work completely. Cough drops do nothing for me as well. I refer to this as cancer cough because I'm not sick or anything just got a tumor in my lung blocking the airway a little.

    Hi RussBrad

Someone once put up a recipe using honey and coffee.  I'll try to find it. In the meantime, I suspect that you are aware that coughing is the body's way of ridding itself of an obstruction.  A cough suppressant may be the only relief you get.  Have they tried shrinking it with radiation?  Chemo?  i'm wondering if they have tried shrinking it to a size that would allow them to remove the lesion surgically.  There are a few surgeons who will operate on a stage 3b or 4 tumor.

Honey and coffee clinical study results.

The portions on mixing the honey and coffee and their storage is listed about 1/2 way down the page.

    Thanks for the response and

Thanks for the response and advice. I guess I should have been a little clearer. My complaint isn't the coughing but the cause of the coughing. They did shrink the tumor considerably with both radiation and chemo but alas it is still there and still in my airway. I'm told it is inoperable based on its position. Of course that was from an oncologist not a surgeon. I am wondering why we can't just get a lung transplant and be done with it. I have to bet there is a lot more to that than meets the eye. I'd be interested to learn the names of these surgeons that will operate on 3b and 4 cancer.

    Surgeons

You may want to visit inspire.com to learn who has done it.  Off hand, i cant remember who they were.  Your best bet would be to talk to surgeons at med schools that are NCCN affilliated.
