Tests - Waiting....

Like everyone here, I hate the few days between my CT's and seeing the Onc Dr., seems like forever.
A new twist this morning when I went to the imaging center for my 6 month CT - Pelvis, Abdoman, Chest. The radiologist there. who has never read my scans, told me he wanted to do full-contrast 100ml, instead of 1/2 dose - 50ml - I've been getting the past 2 years.
I spoke to him and he explained why, etc. He assured me I would be ok. They administered 200mg mg of Theopolin at the place and I filled a script for 5 more doses , 1 every 12 hours.
Anyway, I'm hoping all is ok.
Thanks.

Feeling yourHey Adman... Feeling your anxiety and thinking about you. But I don't understand the last part of your message....what is theopolin and why are they injecting you with it after the scan? Hugs Jojo
 Jojo,
Thank you for yourJojo, Thank you for your concern, much appreciated. They gave me 200mg Theophylline 'before' the contrast injection - I misspelled the name. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theophylline

At least you got contrastThey elected not to give me contrast due to high creatine numbers....mine fluctuated from 1.48 in August to 1.83 three days prior to CT. Anyway doc decided no contrast. I'm not sure what value a CT without contrast is? Any opinions on that? Best of luck on your NED.

Spreading positive Vibs!!!adman said:NED The Good Lord blessed me again with a good report - I'm NED. Thank you to everyone for your love and support. God Bless!! Adman, Good one on ya, I will take your positive vibs and add to the momentum. One year check up....NED....with a very slight caveat. They reported NED for abdomen and pelvis, but used the words "no strong evidence of metastisis" in reference to my chest CT. Apparently a tiny nodule present last November is still evident but no growth was noted. I will take that as a NED too!

CT Without ContrastSkagway Jack said:At least you got contrast They elected not to give me contrast due to high creatine numbers....mine fluctuated from 1.48 in August to 1.83 three days prior to CT. Anyway doc decided no contrast. I'm not sure what value a CT without contrast is? Any opinions on that? Best of luck on your NED. If I understand your question correctly, my oncologist said he wouldn't allow me to have contrast unless my creatinine was below 1.5. Mine fluctuates between 1.6-1.8. I asked about 1/2 contrast, and his opinion was that it was too risky for the benefit and wouldn't want to mess with it. Todd
