Anybody had the cold while on chemotherapy?
It looks like my mom finally caught the bug that Dad says he caught at the hospital. I caught it after him but even with the massive amounts of lysol I was spraying around, she started coughing today. For my Dad and myself we felt awful for one day and then had lingering congestion. I don't know how bad it will get for her but I'm concerned about the congestion because she has had the plueral effusion. Is there something I can do to help or something that she can take to help her fight this off? Thank You for reading.

Call her oncologist. They may give her some antibiotics.

I am dealing with upper respitory cold. I took Mucenex and drank plenty of tea. Finally feeling better and coughing stuff out. If I get a temp over 100.3 I have to call doctor. Hope your mom is feeling better.....Val

Thanks
Thank you guys. mom actually handled the cold better than I did. Tonight she's staying at the hosptial, the plural effusion has caused a traped lung that makes it even more difficult for her to breathe. It looks as though the hospital suction in her new plurex catheter is having a positive effect and she was breathing much easier when i left for the night. Thank you for asking.
