Complex Kidney Cyst

Hi I am new to this so please forgive me if I ask something crazy.  I had an ultrasound done 3 months ago on my kidneys due to a 4.0 cm x 2.3 cm complext cyst being found.  I was told to wait 3 months and have a repeat ultra sound and I did just in late August.  The report shows the cyst is now 4.7 cm x 2.6 cm.  I finally called the doctor to see next steps and am now scheduled for a CT scan with and without contrast.  Should I be concerned?  I still have not talked with the dr. just his office.  I am a little worried as cancer runs in my family and have lost both sets of grandparents and my dad to cancer.  Any advice?

    Rhonda,

    If you are concerned that you are going to die or suffer badly the answer is no. If you are concerned that you may have Kidney Cancer and may have to have an operation to remove your kidney the answer will depend on the result of your CT. Assuming it turns out to be Cancer at 4.7 cm your chance for a full and complete recovery from the surgery alone is excellent. Keep us posted. We have all been there and done that. My was 12 yeaqrs ago.
