Its been 22 days
Hi everyone, it has been 22 days since my husband passed. So far this has been the hardest 22 days of my life; i am really grieving the loss of my husband. i know he is in a better place and not in pain or suffering anymore, but i just want him back. I would gladly take on all the caregiving all over again, to just have him back.
In the spring of next year we will be having a memorial service to spread his ashes in the water by the lighthouse that he loved to go to. He always found peace at the lighthouse, and asked to have his ashes spread there, i have no problem complying with his wish.
I just wanted to thank everyone on here for all the encouragement and help that i received from you during his 6 years of fighting this awful disease. I wish all of you peace and success in fighting your disease. Hopefully they will find a cure for this horrible disease.
Again Thank you all.
Sandi

Early days
Take as much time as you need to heal. Your memories with sustain you, and keep you moving forward.
How beautiful to be able to spread his ashes in a place that he loved. His spirit will be there with you on that day, as it will on many others.
We are always here for you. As you know, there are many here whose loved one have passed, who are still loved and improtant to our little community.

Sending hugs and prayers
I am so sorry for your loss, there are no easy days, but from the experience of loss, time does help, a lot of time but time does help, till then let your feelings out, if you are driving and need to cry, pull over and cry, let it out don't hold it in if possible.
Hugs

Thoughts and Prayers
My heart aches for you and your family. You are right, this disease is awful and it has taken away the ones we love. I'm glad you have a plan for his ashes by the lighthouse he loves. Everytime a wave washes upon that lighthouse it will forever hold a memory of the one you loved. May God give you peace and comfort each and every day to find the strength to go on. May your husband's love always be remembered in your heart. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and for being on this board all these years to help others.

Dear Sandi,
I hope the passage of time brings with it a little peace for you. A loss like this is so overwhelming, all you can do is take it day by day. And remember that you were an awesome caregiver to your husband. Those of us who have this awful disease appreciate all you wonderful folks do more than I can say.

Dear Sandi
My husband died in 2009 and I still check in (but don't often post) to see how other friends are doing. I can tell you it gets better. It takes time and it is so very very hard, but I promise you it does get easier and life will have joy and happiness again one day. It's so very early. Keep trudging through each day and take care of yourself. Rest. Be gentle with yourself. It's all you can really do.
