Immense pain and discomfort after 9th BCG.
Hello everyone,
I read the post of guys undergoing BCG treatement and was quite surprised when people say its not painful. My dad is undergoing this treatement and having great discomfort and had to skip one of the third BCG in third round before cystoscopy because blood started coming when the medicine was put. He is having severe discomfort and frequent feeling of urination every 5 minutes. Finally we had to admit him in the hospital and catherer was placed. Once the catherer is placed he is feeling alright. There is discharge of dead skin and slight blood in the morning from two days. I am worried as doctors just saying that pain and discomfort are sideeffect of BCG treatement.
Regards

BCG treatments
Hi:
My mom had numerous BCG treatments and never experienced pain - only discomfort. Unfortunately, her cancer returned 3 years later with a vengeance and she now needs radiation and chemo. She is 81 years old so we will only start radiation and will be monitoring how she does and stopping treatment once it becomes painful or unbeareable. I am concerned about quality of life. It is really hard to see your parent suffer. I hope your Dad feels better and that the BCG is successful.

Radiation will do more harm and destroy the chances of removal later, only chance for me was to remove the bladder before it escaped and infected the other parts..wish her luck for me ok.
