hey, tc, very nice pic.  i always like to put a face with a name.  you are going to beat this.  you must have faith.  you are going to be around for a long time to take care of your mom and do a lot more living for yourself as well.  i'm sure at your young age, you still have a lot you want to do, kinda like a bucket list, you will have plenty of time to fulfill your list.  believe and get out there and live.  don't let cancer rob you of any more time by worrying about not being here.  Life is for the living, so get back to living!!  you've given enough time to cancer.

    God bless you,

    hello Topcat.
    I'm sorry you

    hello Topcat.

I'm sorry you had to be here. after reading what u went through u r a strong person, just like everyone here. It is not easy nor nice not even okay to go through what we go through. But try to stay positive and think that there is always someone out there suffering from something worse than what we r going through. And remember there is always hope. I had 2 surgeries, one of which is a head surgery and starting imrt...but I am here and this is what counts. I hope all ur pains and worries will end. Until then stay positive and try to smile :)

    God bless you.

    Hi TopCat

Sorry to hear about the C but you are in the right place for help and answers to your questions. We all ask the same thing why me, cancer is for someone else right, no; I guess my number came up so here I am. If my cancer did anything good it lead me here to CSN, I made a lot of friends that I would never had meet in life. I am glad to add you to that list so welcome to CSN H&N.

Sorry to hear that you have had to go through this.  My father went through cancer of the nasal area and sinus w/ lymph nodes involved.  He is doing well, but it has taken a year! As for guidance, I can't provide much but I know there are a lot of wonderful people here who may.  Just wanted you to know that I'm defintely keeping you in my prayers! Stay positive!

    What helped me was...

When I met with the tumor board and my doctor came in and sat down and said,"Your lungs are to bad you won't servive radiation or surgery". The only thing we can do is, remove your larynx and you will breath through your neck and we can do the surgery. Not much of a choices, I was T4; N2; M0; at that time. Lets do the surgery. I came out a T3;N0; M0; and no voice and they took 86 glands in my neck.

Now whate helped me was, it doesn't matter WHY. The only thing that matters is, what I was going to do about it now. Today matters, do the best you can do. You will have bad days and some setbacks, but what we do about it is what counts. You keep an attitude you will beat this beast, and you will. You think positive and just take today on. You will get to tomorrow soon enough. Now on the bad days, you come here and just put into words, yes vent and get it out. That's why were here, I vent as well as some others. It helps just knowing these people do really understand how you are felling and going through. We all help each other and no one is alone. We do understand being scared, we all were at one time or another. Just being told ...You have Cancer, is the worst words you can hear. The best words are NED [No Evendance of Desease]

You will fight this and get through it as well.  Try to have a better day.

billy thanks for the words im

    the standard quote ...

    "Everyone is different"

That really is the best answer yet not very specific. Guzzle did amazingly well and I say sailed over the whole bumpy road, maybe touching ground here and there. Others have hit every pothole, and crack and got terribly beat up.

You will improve, how fast and how far are unknown. You should be feeling on the upswing but just have to take each day and do all you can to ensure you check off:

NUTRITION  --  HYDRATION -- PAIN MANAGEMENT

    Good luck,

    Don
