Rhabdoid RCC

Hello,

April 7th my father was diagnosed with kidney cancer. Our first opinion felt surgery was out of the question, so we got a second opinion. Our second opinion was optimistic, and he was scheduled for a radical nephrectomy. The recovery after surgery was rough and he was back in and out of the hospital. Finally after being admitted his most recent time they found that the cancer had spread to his stomach lining and it is a rare, aggressive cancer with "rhabdoid" features.

He recently had a permanent catheter put in, as his ascites has become very bad as well...

Obviously I know this is bad, but was wondering if there was anyone out there who was in a similar image?

Any information is greatly appreciated.

Best,

J

So sorry for you and your Dad!

    Jmoar,

Welcome, unfortunately to the RCC forum.  You will receive great information hear from first hand patients! I am sorry that you have had to join us, but for moral support, hopes, prayers, and just for someone to listen to you, there is not a better place to be!

I am not really sure about your Father's condition, but there will be others to comment as well.  I do know of another survivior web page that has really great information as well and that is called smart patients, you can try there for information as well.

Praying for you and your Dad in this long battle ahead of you both!

                                                              Prayers for good health!
