    on diet and exercise

    Phil,

exercise has definitely been correlated with better outcomes.

As for diet, see my post on glucose and cancer.  You might be interested in my last post of today which provides a link to a 2013 lecture by Dr Longo who has been studying the effects of dietary restriction on aging for many years and more recently the connection with cancer.     His work is lead to clinical trials at several institutions in which cancer patients undergo a form of short term fasting (some food is involved).   The evidence he presents indicates that fasting enhances the body's survival mechanisms whilr at the same time depriving cancer cells of the nutrients (primarily glucose) needed to grow.

If you can't find the post here is his 2013 presentation - the cancer part of his talk starts at about 23 minutes in.   The first part is about longevity.

there is also a separate but parallel line of inquiry being pursued by Dr Thomas Seyfried of Bostom College.  My glucose post provides more information about him and his research which is also undergoing trials.

I'm sure Dr Seyfried will work with your oncologist if you're interested

    good luck
