in Peritoneal Cancer #1

And now for my latest recurrence of my Primary Peritoneal Ca stage 3b.... I took a 2 month chemo break even though I had some residual disease on ct. My ca125 was normal. During those 2 months, my partner was admitted to ICU for respiratory failure due to an opportunistic infection. I belueve that the incredible stress of this helped kick my tumor growth into high gear. Now I have a tumor pressing on my ureter, and am having a stent placed tomorrow. Hoping the kidney starts to function so that I can start chemo on Monday.

 

She plans on stopping taxol (yay) but keeping carbo and adding another drug, either toptecan or Gemzar. Anyone have experience with either of these?  I think she talked about adding Avastin as well. I'm planning to do some research this weekend, but thought I'd ask here, too. Tnx in advance.
