The journey continues
Hi we are new to the bladder cancer forum after a journey down the ovarian cancer lane. My loving wife of 37 years was diagnosed with ovarian cancer with spots on an ovarey her peretineal, bowel and omentum in August 2013. She was treated with carbo taxol for 3 rounds and then booked in for surgery. The debaulking surgery was a non event as all the spots had dissapeared and then it was discovered a tumor in her bladder. The surgeons appoligised for the surgery. The treatment for the ovarian cancer had been so sucessful it was given for a furter 3 rounds. We were given a break of 3 months before a scan showed 3 spots on her liver. The oncologist tells us these are more secondaries from the bladder and has recomended some more chemo with Gemcitabine and Cisplatin. We have been referred to our new local oncology unit and waiting for an appointment. The good news was that there is no urgency to start treatment.
