Lack of Medication

I am going thru chemo and with only 3 txs to go.  I was just informed not to come to the treatment because they ran out of Taxol.  They will call me whenever they receive it.  It's on backorder. I've never heard of a clinic running out of medicine.  That means that my tx will be in backorder too.  Can there be ramifications  if I miss some treatments?

I hope the delay is less than a week

Several days should not make a big difference. please call your doctor and discuss the back order situation with your oncologist.

    Lack of Medication

After 1 week I'm back on chemo.  I need 2 more and, if Pet Scan clear, I'll be off of chemo and on to recovery.  Oncologist informed me no reason to go on Radiation TXs.   Thanks for your reply.

    taxotere is 'family' to Taxol

Please ask ONC about this substitution == however, based on treatment protocol - I doubt your Doctor will switch --

Please continue to call your Onco office daily - to get an update - Just my suggestion.

Strength, Courage and HOPE for a Cure.
