Dentist - Update after Dr Visit
So, I went to the dentist today. It has been almost 4 years. My teeth are in great shape. That is a releif - I had radiation 7 years ago.
HOWEVER, the dentist saw a lesion on my tongue. It is 5mmX7mm oval, and has a yellow halo. I got worried when he started asking me if I still see an ENT regularly and when I go next. He showed it to me, and I don't think it is somewhere where I would have bitten my tounge.
So, I have an appointment on Fridaay morning. Hope its nothing.
All I have to say is UNCLE!
UPDATE 6/6
The ENT looked at my tongue. Said it looked like irritation - rubbing against my teeth.
He is going to look again in 3 weeks.
Also had him put the scope down my nose - always my favorite (LOL)
Everything looks good. I did mention my forearm hurts in one spot where the skin graft is. He said - that is probably good - the nerves are regenerating. Hope that is done with by winter. that is the exact sopt my winter coat hits when I am driving.

Ah crap, Lorna!!
One thing, tho.....you're getting into the ENT quick quick quick! There's a good chance that it is nothing important.....maybe something you did in your sleep.
Sending massive positive thoughts and prayers your way.....

my tongue lesion on the left
my tongue lesion on the left was cancer. Since then, I've gotten what appears yo be canker sores on the right side. These have been biopsied and were not cancerous I get them and they go away. Mine also were yellow. My ENT told me that the yellow area usually means it's healing. Best yo have it checked though!
great news on the teeth. are you using flouride trays?

I don't use floride trays. I don't always floss either. Forturnately, just have great teeth.
Since I had the laryngectomy, I don't have to worry about choking when they spray water in my mouth. This was the first cleaning I had when the use the water tools - in 25+ years.
The hygenist also had to do this all standing up, because she usually put the head low, and I can't have that done, else all my stomach contents well migrate to my mouth.
I had my electrolarynx in hand to buzz at her for her to stop. Didn't have to use it!
Now - I promise, I will go every six months

Graft
My skin graft is on inside of wrist plus vein going up to inside of elbow. Tender on an off. Was starting to feel like arthritis. I had pain from thumb to wrist. Couldn't believe a copper bracelt helped with some pain. Glad to hear your report and glad the doctor will also follow up.

Lorna, lots of people here in UK report. Post op sores which are mostly innocent and down to dry / new shape mouth or teeth rubbing, G

ALRIGHTY THEN
Hey Lorna,
Alrighty then, yeaaaaaaa, I'm glad to hear that it's in an irritation, and not that other thing! It is irritating to have an irritation that raised red flags, but I do believe that it is a great alternative to have. I love being scoped too, and the best part is always when my doc tells me to breathe through my mouth, even though he tries to remember that ain't gonna happen; we all get a chuckle.
I'm happy to know that overall, your revovery is progressing well with only a minor bump and scare here and there. You have plenty of healing time between now and when your winter driving season will begin.
I don't know about you, but I have a great time, when we are out at dinner, sharing my swallowing saga with the server, and showing her/him my forearm. Folks are always amazed and inspired; it kind of helps them to keep things in perspective. Keep It Mov'in Forward!
