O.T. anyone have weekend plans for the holiday?

We are heading north camping (first time this season)-our annual Memorial weekend ttip-with the grandkids in tow..

Because my husband works at a

Because my husband works at a store that sells plants, trees. flowers, mulch . . . as well as lumber and other building needs, all of the workers have to work Memorial Day Saturday, if not also Sunday.  So, we stay local.

Monday we are going about 45 minutes from here to a nephew's (and wife) for a picnic.  We are taking a large green salad.  I am not sure how many relatives will be there, but it will be great.  The weather sounds promising.  (Our nephew and wife expect their first child within the month.)

Hard with seasonl jobs or

Hard with seasonl jobs or grocery stores (Many of my relative work in food and must work all holidays)

The raininess was out of here

The raininess was out of here by Friday evening.  Our weekend was excellent.

Our big event, though, is this Sunday.  We will celebrate my mo-in-law's birthday, which is actually Saturday.  She will be 87.  The family is huge, and many live within an hour of here.  Last count was that maybe 50-60 will be there.  (I also turn 60 this Sunday, but I don't care that the focus is on my mo-in-law.)

Where do you camp?  Friends of mine like to take their RV over to Keuka Lake in the summer.  (If I am remembering right, you are a NYer.)

I have been to several spots

I have been to several spots up in the ADKs and have enjoyed the mountains and lakes.

I live in the Finger Lakes Region, a very beautiful area.  There are a lot of neat things in the towns throughout the summer.  We like to drive up to Skaneateles to hear the band concert (free) outdoors at the gazebo at the tip of the lake.  People bring their blankets and lawn chairs to set up in the park.  Small boats come in and drop anchor for the hour-long concert. This event happens Friday evenings in July and August.  The time is relaxing.  It is fun to watch the small kids get up and sway and dance to the music.  The band is excellent.

When we travel, we "motel it" or stay with relatives.

we camped in Tupper Lake area, Schroon lake, Lake George, Lake Placid (all my life since a baby-same places my parents took me, i took my kids and now my grandkids..)

NYS is Great....Catskills and

NYS is Great....Catskills and Adk Mountains are the best. WE go to White Face each summer-
