Latest pathology report back...

Hi all,

On April 14th I had a white patch of leukoplakia excised from my tongue and I've just recieved the results of the pathology.

Pathology came back as hyperplasia, with no evidence of dysplasia or carcinoma.

This is an improvement on the situation last year when I had a large white patch removed from my tongue and that one had a pathology of moderate dysplasia. So between the two treatments there's been an improvement with a regression from dysplasia to hyperplasia - And I remain cancer free.

    some observations on pathology

    Hey gavin,

    things are better than you think.  Dysplasia can lead to cancer.  But hyperplasia is an entirely different critter.  It has absolutely nothing to do with the spectrum of precancer or cancer.  It is simply "thickened tissue."  so there is NO potential for this to cause you any trouble whatsoever.
