I'm a bit late (haven't been on too much lately). Foxy Faye is adorable!! Oh she will give you all of that unconditional love!! Nothing like a dog's devotion - they are really special.
We just lost our Max in March. Our grandson arrived on March 5th and we lost Maxi on the 16th. We rescued him 10 years ago and he was around 8 then... so it was him time to go but man, that is so hard. He was family. Haven't been able to go out and adopt again quite yet but we will. My husband and I agree that we like our house much better with a dog in it. At the end he started having accidents in the house and got up every two hours to go out- very exhausting for all. But you know how it is - whether it's chasing a puppy or following an old boy outside- we do it. And they appreciate all of it.
So all the best to you and your new addition. She is just precious and does have that "fox" look. I love the tribute to your sister too.
And the dogs with make-up made me laugh out loud!!
Hugs,
Donna

I'm so sorry about your loss. It is so difficult to lose a friend like that. Know you are finding much joy with your new grandson but it is still difficult. I'm sure you take much comfort in knowing you gave Max a wonderful life. When Trixie died, we went 2 years before getting Gracie (the white mug in our picture). It was the longest I ever remember in my life being without a dog, so it was time (overtime) to get a new one. You will know when the time is right. I remember hearing Joan Rivers say about her beloved Yorkie Spike that he was her best friend, he stuck with her in very trying times even the suicide of her husband. When he got old and had urinary problems she had a special rubber pad for him so that he could sleep on her bed at night. People made fun of her for that and she said, after all he has done for me, I'm going to kill him because he has an incontinence problem?
