Newly diagnosed and textbook symptoms
One year ago, i had a rare occurance..i had, what i thought, was 3 periods within a 6 week timeframe. I went to see my doctor who quickly dismissed my concerns and gave me a simple, "you are most likely getting ready to start going through the change". My doctor offered to place me on birth control pills to help regulate my cycle, but i declined. She also suggested i keep a journal of my episodes. Several months ago, my symptoms increased. And for the past 3 months, they have become more painful/noticeable. I finally went to see my doc again, with concerns of regular spotting between periods that would last 5-7 days..and sometimes longer. My spotting would always be a light bloody tinge that would tuen brownish and near watery. I also started spotting after intercourse. Lately my lower back, mainly right side, has been constantly hurting, no matter what i do. And i have had constant cramping sensations. My periods have gotten much heavier, causing me to change a super plus tampon nearly every 2 hours and alot of times i would soak through one quickly. The clots have been increasing, in size and frequency. I cant stand in the shower without them falling out during my cycle. Mu entire body seems to be out of whack. I had a recent pap done, and my doc suggested i have hpv screening as well, due to my age(39). Well, a week later i got a call from the nurse who needed to see me immediately. I made it to the office that afternoon, and was told that i tested positive for hpv, and my pap was abnormal. I had high grade SIL, CIS, and CIN 2/3. The nurse personally called another physicians office as i sat there. The nurse had worked at this OB/GYN previously and asked the nurse on the phone to get my appointment as soon as possible. This is my first abnormal pap and i go to the doctor tomorrow for a colposcopy. Im nervous. I have been non stop searching the web for answers. I know what most sites say about what i have. But i also read that I am having almost every textbook sign of invasive. Cancer runs in both sides of my family. Both paternal and maternal had cancer(1 breast cancer, the other lung cancer). I dont know of any family members to have cervical cancer. Has anyone else had these same symptoms and diagnosis? Im still shocked that i am learing of this happening to my body. I thankfully have 3 children already, which are already growimg up(teens!). Please provide your input. I just happened to find this site and im so glad i did. If nothing else, i can see that i will have a very strong support system with you all!

Anxiety
I'm glad you found your way here. I hope you don't have cancer but whether you do or don't, at this point the anxiety is just as intense. try not to cross any bridges before you come to them. I also hope your procedure went well today and you weren't too uncomfortable. Do get back to us. I am from the uterine board but tend to visit all the below the belt sites. I am over 2 years postoperative and doing well, currently NED ( no evidence of cancer).

Thank you for your response. And congrats on being cancer free!!! I had my biopsies this morning, and I know my pain tolerance is high, but OMG!!! That hurt so bad!!! I was a teardrop shy of screaming! It was the most painful thing to me....and the "cramps" are not what I am accustomed to. These little suckers have me doubled over. Anyway, I go back next week for results and treatment options. Good luck to you!!
