Discomfort in area of removed kidney
Hello all,
My name is Chris and I am new to the discussion boards. In June of 2013 I had a radical nephrectomy for my right kidey. Examination of the removed kidney indicated pT1a G3 RCC. Six months after surgery I began to feel a range of sensations from dull aches to sharp pains in the region of my lower rib cage to lower flank. I was wondering if anybody who has had a partial or radical nephrectomy has experienced anything similar?
Best regards,
Chris

Yes
I had a partial on my left, and routinely get pains in the same locations. I figure its just nerve damage in my case. Guess I'll find out in a month or so when I get my scan. I'm afraid to bring it up with my doc, I'm afraid they'll just write it off as me being a hypochondriac or something, so I just live with it.

I had a partial on march 6th of this year and still have a little pain where they sawed off part of 11th rib for better access. I also get a burning sensation over next to my belly button on occasion which I think is the nerves healing
other than that, I just get some aches from the muscles tightening up and then getting stretched. I started going to the gym again last week For the first time since my surgery and for me that makes me feel better all around

Thanks for the feedback. I
Thanks for the feedback. I too am afraid doctors think I am being a hypocondriac. I definately feel something and would like to find out what's going on. Xray and ultrasound have not revealed anything, and I am waiting unitl my remaining kidney functions better to do a CT Scan.

My surgery was just over two years ago. I still have aches and pains at times. That said ask your doctor to be sure. Ron
