John update **Wed, April 30th**

Well folks,
John should be up and walking a little bit today. Shelley stayed on a recliner in his room last night, so I think both of them are more calm today. They are still tweeking the pain med schedule a bit, but this was some major surgery so a little bit of that is normal.
Let's hope he continues to improve so he gets sprung this week some time.
Sunday, 4/27/14:
John had a good night's sleep and a good overnight nurse....as we know, good nurses make all the difference !
And Shelley is his BEST nurse....she even gave John a sponge bath last night, probably because he was starting to smell like a kettle of fish LOL !!
Keep up the good work, and you will be home soon.
Monday, 4/28/14:
Well, rumor has it that John is threatening to flash the neighboring office buildings this morning, so it seems his abi-normal sense of humor has returned, YEAH !!!
All of us who know him, know that this is a good sign !!
Wed, 4/30
John is still enjoying his jello and chicken broth feasts and coffee -black.
His insides are still working on what they are supposed to do now with all that extra space, but he is feeling pretty good and getting some rest.
Still not sure when he will get sprung...but hopefully soon.

Saturday 9:20 pm Pacific time
Thanks Ingrid!
Keep getting better. If you are walking, they will be showing you the door soon. Are you getting reacquainted with pushing a cart with IV’s? Maybe you should have left your PORT in a little longer? (LOL).
We are keeping your seat warm for you.
Sending good mojo,
Matt

For what you just went through, you are looking good. Or is it the favorite hospital gown? Do you get to take that thing out of your nose before you go home? I remember taking my mom to the hospital and the nurse saying that I was going to help with the NG tube. I said I would teach her kids to read but I didn't want to touch that thing. My son had it when he had and appendectomy. Get well, rest, recover. Then you can go fishing!
