John (Skiffin) 4/25/14 Update

Hello Friends

John has been trying to get back on track with his pain med schedule.  After yesterday's issue with the nurse from he** and the timing of the meds, it's a bit tough to get back on track (as most of us know all too well).

Shelley has made arrangements to stay overnight -- so both of them should be a little less stressed.

She will make sure he get what he needs on time !

Prayers for continued healing and home in his own bed soon.

    YEP that can be rough

Yes that can be rough. If the nurce doesn't log it in, before she went to lunch, you can have to fight for the next med. I had that happen a long time ago. Thoughts and prayers to both of them...

    UPDATE

    Hey Ingrid,

Thanks for the update.  I'm sorry to hear about John having an experience with a nurse from H!!!, no one needs that when in the hospital.  It is good that Shelly will be spending the night and will  be there to make sure he gets taken care of.  It's sad, but it seems that one always needs to have a family member present in the hospital to oversee post opreative treatment and care.  Best wishes to John for a trouble free, speedy recovery.

    Thanks for the update Ingrid.

Thanks for the update Ingrid. I feel like going over and smacking that nurse. It is a sad thing that when someone is in the hospital a family must be present and log all meds and the time given. My mother was in the hospital and a nurse almost gave her a med she was not suppose to have. If we had not had round the clock family logging meds and time she would have died.

Tell John and Shelley I am praying for a speedy recovery and that they get his pain under control.

    Thanks so much for updates

    Ingrid:

First, am thrilled John is doing well, but hate he had an issue with pain meds and a nurse!  I know Shelley will make sure they get things right.  And second and this is a big second of all, thank you so much for keeping up updated.  Been out of town till Wed and been catching up.  John was the first one to welcome me to this sight during my husband's bout with cancer and when it came back and was terminal.  He is such a great person and so caring so glad to hear he's doing well from the surgery and hope he's back posting soon.  Thanks again.
