Johnnybegood UPDATE

Was hoping to post that JBG was home safely & healing, but(there's always a but, isn't there) it seems that the steri strips used on the surgical incision are in the line of fire from the stoma bag attachment & they would not stay in place. At the moment, she has a gaping 4" incision which is covered with gauze. This is to be stitched together tomorrow using local anesthesia. And then she has the option to go home.

She will play it by ear according to how she feels. I'm not sure I'd want to drive 100 miles after being stitched back together & neither is she. She is in pretty good spirits despite having been in a great deal of pain today. One of the last things she said was "I can get through this. I've gotten through so much already." She is one tough little cowgirl, my baby!

Will update again when I know more.

Luv,

Wolfen

    Hey Wolfen

OMGosh, that sounds so bad, here's to a painless stitching, I cringe just thinking about it.

JBG sure has a lot of spunk and as you said one tough cookie!

Let her know I am thinking of her and looking forward to her increased health.

    Love to you both,

    Winter Marie

    Thinking of Her

I've been wondering how she has been doing and sorry to hear that she is still having problems.  Hope she plans on staying in the hospital at least an extra day after the new stitching just to make sure there is no infection and give her another day of healing.  My thoughts are with her.  Thank you for the update.

    Poor lass!

Been there done that and have ample sympathy for others going through it now.

I pray that she will be comfortable soon. Comfortable at home, sleeping in her own bed, and healing.

Give her a hug from me. And a hug for you too.

    Hugs to your girl, Wolfen...

has she gotten home?  I hope it's soon, if it hasn't yet happened.  Hospital isn't the best place to heal up.

    Hugs to you too.

    Big Hugs

Big Hugs for both you, Wolfen, and JBG.   I can't say more then Craig did earlier.  My only wish is that my Lovely Lasy and i have at least some of the strength and courage you two have.

Even though home has distinct advantages for me.  I would opt to stay at the hospital since there is no way to predict how she will feel when the local anasthetic wears off and the drain of travel and treatment set in.

Wound care is very important and I am glad to see that you and your care team seem to be on top of it.

    Heal fast,

    Art

Jbg is a toughy!  I think she

Jbg is a toughy!  I think she gets that from her mom :)

I hope she is feeling stronger each day.  My husband has had his ostomy for about a year now.  Has not been the right time to reverse due to circumstances.  He hated it, but just recently told the doctor that it does have its advantages and he doesn't mind it so much any more. I hope it quickly becomes second nature for you JBG.
