BRA IDEAS AFTER LUMPECTOMY
Hi, Ladies! I posted this on the breast cancer forum, and did get 2 answers. But I wanted to run it by all of you, as I know some of you have been through breast cancer as well. I come here as often as I can, and continue to pray for all of you and think of you often. I can't get here as much as I used to, but it doesn't mean you are not on my mind. As to my question, I'm just trying to find the best solution to this new 'wardrobe malfunction'!
Hi, Ladies:
Finished my radiation! Started the Anostrozole about 2 weeks ago. Noticing a few things, but just trying to grin and bear it till the so-called 5 or 6 month mark when everything is supposed to mellow out.
Right now, I'm having trouble with my bras. Obviously, the one side does not fit the same as the other anymore. Aside from the fact that I've been needing new bras anyway, I need to know what any of you have done to 'take up the slack' on the 'defficient' side. It is somewhat noticeable under clothing, and also creates a lot of shifting and strap slippage, even if I tighten it. So, I found a place in my area that specializes in these types of situations, and walked in, but they go by appointment only. And quite honestly, I was not pleased with the two girls at the front desk. They made me feel uncomfortable and weren't very helpful.
So, I'd be willing to get something on-line, or even locally if I just knew what to look for. I'm familiar with any inserts, foam pads, etc., but want to be able to accommodate any bras I have, not just permanently in one.
Thanks for your help! (((HUGS)))

Hey Monika
I see you're getting good advice on BC forum. My mom who had lumpectomy 15 years ago uses silicon form on one side. I don't know where she gets them, but they look something like this http://www.lindasonline.com/anita-care-1046x-sequitex-compensation-partial-silicone-breast-form-prosthesis.html. I am sure you could find them for a better price if you search ebay for "lumpectomy" or "equalizer form".
Mom doesn't like foam padded bras because she lives in hot climate (in Israel). Look into soft cup Amoena Mastectomy Bras with pockets and wide elastic underband or Trulife Chelsea Long-Line Mastectomy Bras.
Good luck!!!

QVC sells Ah bras that are pull on and I heard testimony from breast cancer patients that these were very comfortable and were happy to wear . Check out their website. Hope this helps....stay strong...Val
