"How Doctors Think"
I am scheduled for an electrocardiogram on April 8. My new NP thinks my inability to breathe and my staggering when walking may be heart failure from Adrimycin . Based upon the dose I received, I have a 18% chance of heart damage from Adrimycin, which is a drug used in ABVD, CHOP, and several other combination therapies. Symptopms can occur up to eight years after treatment, with no previous issues.
I was reading about it when I came across this book, which describes the limitations many doctors have in diagnosing things -- some of the most common issuues that prevent correct diagnosis, whether in cancer or in non-cancer situations. I plan to order a copy.

I am not worried, and do not think I have a heart problem, but we shall see. Live and learn. I have beaten 18% medical odds plenty of times in the past.

Heart
Max, the book sounds very interesting. I just checked and it is available at my local library, so I put a hold on it. I have to go for a port flush on Monday, so I will pick it up then.
I had the Red Zinger too. Also, I believe Ritluxan can be rough on the heart and I'm still on that. So far, no sign of trouble. But my Naturapathic Physician (which I don't think you particularly believe in) has me taking CoQ10 to protect my heart.
I hope your ECG goes well. I hope you don't have heart failure but it would explain your S.O.B. And even if you do, I happen to know three different people who have been living with it (with treatment) for years.
Good for you that you are not worried! Can't help and yes, you have beat a lot of medical odds.
Hugs,
Rocquie

We owe you a few Max. We are really hoping you don't have to add those problems to your list or if so hopefully you can add it to your "things I have beaten" list.
Thinking of you always, B&B

Aaron,
I do not think my issue is my heart, since I have had breathing problems since my chest was crushed in 1986.
My brother has given the best evaluation of me to date: "You are just a busted up, broken down old wreck of a man."
And he did not charge $2,000 for the assessment !
A song for our dear friend John, although he might not know what the word "adeiu" means. (Probably thinks it is the vow spoken at a Southern wedding: 'John, do you take this here fine woman Sally Mae for your beloved?' 'Adeiu !')
Ayybody here seen my old friend Johnny? Can you tell me where he's gone ?

Max, you just crack me up, I am still laughing about that video. How many times have we seen that scene and now I will always think of John when I see "The Sound of Music", who knew? BTW, let us know if you decide to leave and find another board.
Wishing you only good news with your health, Becky
