One Year Ago
Today marks one year since my cancer diagnosis. Hard to believe that surgery and radiation, and 5 months of tamoxifen took up the majority of my time and focus. Currently, I am doing well with the aftermath of the cancer. Energy level is almost back to normal. I am still not back on my tamoxifen as my onc wants to wait until I see my bone mineral metabolism doc to see how the perlia shots are affetcting my osteooporisis. If that stailizes when I go back for my bone scan, then she may consider letting me re-start the tamoxifen. This is all complicated by the PVC heart irregluarity. In fact today, they put be back on the Holter monitor for another 48 hours to re-evalulate the PVCs and to see if the beta blocker is working. I think it is working great - because I feel GREAT! Keep your fingers crossed that the Holter monitor shows the improvement I feel and that the bone scan will show stabilization on my bones and I can re-start the tamoxifen as arimadex is not an option for me. I appreciate all of the support I have received from everyone here durng this past year and like so many others have said, it's not a place you want to have to come to, but is the place to be when you need to be here fighting the beast.

Good to hear you are now on the other side of it all. You have to be excited with this milestone, seeing where you are a year later.

1 year anniversary
I am right there with you Beth...March 6th was my 1 yr...Still going thru the reconstruction / deconstruction...Not having good luck with this part of the process...At times, I wish I had not chose to have immediate reconstruction. If only, there was a crystal ball - Sorry to hear you have had heart issues as well...remember to listen to your body - nobody knows it better than you!!! And, you're right, the folks here have been great and really supportive...wish I had found this website earlier when I was making all of my decisions...
Cheers to your anniversary....Andi
