waiting for pet scan results- update
And the anxiety is killing me. This never gets easier does it? We have a couple of important family events in the next two weeks and bad news would suck, but I guess there is no good time for bad news. I wish we had put the scan off for a couple of weeks.

Waiting right along with you...
there ought to be some kind of law that they have to give you the report within 24 hours. This kind of waiting is so, so stressful.

I understand your anxiety and
I understand your anxiety and timing issues. I find myself rushing to see family and vacation before a scan so bad results doesn't ruin it. It's a hard way to live but that is all we have. I will keep your husband in my prayers.

Have you gone to the imaging
Have you gone to the imaging facility and asked for the radiologist's report? You may not have to wait till you see your oncologist to get the results of your scan. I did this with an ultrasound I had done to check my liver for any possible metastisis after my liver enzymes were creeping up. I didn't want to wait till I met/heard from my oncologist. I went to the imaging facility the day after (could have been 2 days after) and requested the report. The radiology department didn't even give me any issues in getting it. I just had to sign a piece of paper acknowledging I was getting a copy of the report after I showed them my driver's license.
I would never tolerate a 2 week or even a 1 week wait to get my scan results.

The longest we have waited
The longest we have waited for scan results is the next day... I think it's horrible that you have to wait so long.

Sorry I wasn't clear. The
Sorry I wasn't clear. The scan was friday and appt on Tuesday. I just meant that the next two weeks is busy and bad news would make those events difficult.
So as usual, good news and (maybe) bad news. Bone lesions are dark. None of them are lighting up now. However, there is an area in the presacral fat that she wants to get biopsied. She is concerned it is a recurrence. She called last night though to give results of yesterday's blood work and CEA is 1.2, and that has been a good indicator. There was also a thyroid issue but she doesn't think that is cancer related, but he has an U/S coming up.
Thanks for the support.

That doesn't sound too bad. I hope you can take that as positive at least to not let it interfere with your upcoming plans. How is your husbands pain. Is it getting better/more manageable.

Thanks Jeff - I hope you are right.
The pain is much better. He's down to 175 on Fentanyl - from 275. Gets a little achy, but not too bad. I think he's still on way too high of a dose, but we are reducing slowly.

Thanks Phil - it is hard to take a day at a time after being such a planner for the future. It kinda sucks actually, but it is the only way to get through this. My husband, like you and Jeff has great faith, which helps him cope.
Biopsy is next Wed. Prayers and positive thoughts are appreciated.
