In short:

IMPRESSION:
1 Findings most suggestive of primary left tongue base tumor with metastatic left cervical lymphadenopathy.
2. No distant FDG avid disease.

From my Dr.: I do have good news in that it doesn't appear the cancer is outside of the lymph nodes based on the PET scan. No other areas in the body affected.

That emotional boulder is still there just able to breath a bit now. Still keeping fingers crossed. Next up ENT on Tuesday. I sure hope that this starts getting handled soon.

Good to hear that it is localized. Waiting for the show to get on the road is frustrating. Hopefully, things will start to move faster. Prayers for an easy journey.

    So I'm glad you are

starting to breathe, Mike.  It takes a while to be able to put your name and the word cancer in the same sentence, and have it make sense....the two words don't go together for a while it seems.  Getting a treatment plan together takes some time, like from the time of diagnosis, to the actual day of starting treatment can take a few weeks.....but they're on it now, and you will soon be on your way.

Do ask for a Port.....once chemo commences, and they start testing your blood every week (at the least), you'll be glad to have a built in access point.

It's going to go way faster then you think!!!

    another step

    Mike,

Yours sounds similar to mine (left bot & 1 lymph node left side of neck & hpv+).  I see that stress boulder rising, it won’t be long and you can turn that boulder into sand under your feet.

Next up, your treatment plan and your personal getting ready plan.  The easiest thing I can suggest is a nice comfortable recliner, to rest up and gather your thoughts.

My head was still spinning at this stage, but you simply keep moving forward.  If you have a good team they will help you make the correct choices for the decisions ahead.

    Best of luck,

    Matt

    That's some good news.

Well take any good news you can. Being localized is very good. May the road you are about to go down have lots of good news and very few bumps. You CAN do this and win. Stay positive and get all the suport you can. The group is here for, and with you. Prayers as well going your way.
