No lung surgery....microwave?
Drs have told me they won't do lung mets now cos scan shows larger tumor has grown now to 62mm. Bugger! They want to try and get hem under control first...???? Anyone had microwave, radiation therapy? What is it exactly? How successful? side effects? They have had it in melbourne awhile and just bought it to adelaide?? help!

Hooley ...
are you referring to microwave ablation or stereotactic radiation treatment?
Here is a link to an article that discusses both ... imaging-guided thermal ablation procedures and stereotactic procedures as an effective alternative to surgical resection.

Perhaps this will be a great option for you, especially since it has been brought closer to you.

I am not a candidate for this procedure as of now, at least not for the lungs. However, there is a spot on the liver that is being considered for a similiar procedure. There is what seems to be quite a bit of information on the web about this procedure.
Glad there is at least one option on the table!!
Let us know how it works out for you,
Art
