Strange ... our forum posts appearing on this site ...

Does anyone know what in the world this website is:
http://www.healthboards.org/Forum-colon-and-rectal.html
Our forum posts are being mirrored there. Very weird.
Peace. ~ Cynthia

Strange indeed
From what I have been able to find from the internet it appears that this HealthBoards site is something of a "gatherer". It seems to gather from other sites to put into a single location...in other words not just from us. One source indicated over 280 boards have been gathered.
It is disturbing for sure, but may not be stoppable...remember our posts are part of the public domaine and actually searchable on the net. Only our Private Messages are really private.
Worth letting Greta know and let those folks hash out the legalities.

picking up content from other places on the internet. I think it's probably legit, as all of our posts here are public and searchable. I believe there is a way to set up a forum like this so that its content is not searchable, which gives members more privacy, but that's up to the site owners.
As for the PMs...we should all remember that they too may be shared elsewhere by the recipient in an unexpected fashion, so even those need to approached with a certain amount of discretion!

No anonymous posts
Something that concerns me is that if someone has Google Chrome image search, they can find your anonymous posts here on the forum by searching for like images. I used Nana B's picture and clicked on 'Search Google with this image' and came up with all her posts on this forum. Even if you use a pseudonym, if you've posted that picture of yourself on Facebook, Twitter or elsewhere and use it in a private forum sharing detailed info, it can be found by searching for that image.
I needed (the free) image search for my work to be able to give credit for any art work or camera work I might use on my work website.
