Selfie
I asked Jim where his picture went, that I missed it. I was just cartooning a picture of myself (for another purpose) and decided to show it off. It isn't really a Selfie (the 2013 Word of the Year) my husband took it with his phone last summer. As you can see, my hair was just starting to grow in well and I am sporting a natural Mohawk. That was a fun hair re-growth phase.
I won't be using this for my picture every time I post because I like my butterfly. That really is my hand, that butterfly really did land on it, and I really did have a camera in the other hand. I considered it for what it was that day--a blessing.
Cheers my friends,
Rocquie

Thanks for such a refreshing, feel good post Roquie. You do very nice work, of course you had a beautiful subject. I always wondered about the butterfly, awesome, one of those memorable moments of life. I am getting tired of our picture popping up every time, so in all his spare time Bill is trying to figure out how to post a cute one we have of Gracie. We did it once, but like I stated before, when it comes to that stuff we're Frick and Frack.
Thanks again for posting, stay healthy, Becky

Thank Goodness !!!
Thank Goodness you straightened that out for us. I thought the butterfly was you until now. LOL. It made me think of a joke, well not really a joke. It was several years ago and my younger sisters and I still lived at home. I had started a new job a couple of weeks earlier and when I got paid for the first time I came in the house and said, I love days like this because the eagle S#!T today. My sister looked over at me and said, I thought it was the "Groundhog saw it's shadow." She was only about 11 years old.

Hi Rocquie
I like both pictures and I love the butterfly story . About the only thing I've had land on me are stink bugs - they were so bad last year. The lady bugs were plentiful too but supposedly it's good luck for them to land on you. Stay warm Rocquie - it's gonna be cold your way tonight I think.

Another true insect story. . .a number of years ago, a dear friend of ours died. As we were scattering her ashes after the memorial service, there was a hatch of lady bugs. Suddenly, there were thousands of lady bugs everywhere. It was very magical and now everytime we see one, we think of her.
Yes, it will be cold tonight. Our prediction is 1 degree for a low.
Hugs,
Rocquie

Hair, glorious hair!
Rocquie,
Thank you for sharing your picture. My hair is also returning (although it will go again once I'm in transplant). The odd thing I noticed is that it is growing in a different direction. I always had the part in my hair on the right side...it has moved to the left.
Speaking of cold...tonight we're dropping to -5. Reminds me of an old saying: Its cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey! (which isn't as dirty as it sounds).

My hair came back darker (almost black) and with less grey than before though I don't recommend chemo as a way to get rid of grey hair .
I like the brrrrrrr-**** monkey comment;).

Not sure what color my hair is coming back yet. I always hair brown hair with grey at the temples. As it was coming back, it started white, then shifted toward a brown, now almost black.
I lost a total of 45lbs since being Dx back in May 2013. I was almost 290...now a svelte 245 (I carry it well). I also wouldn't recommend this as a diet plan either!

Yes, my hair is darker and has less gray. Also it is very curly which it was not before. I lost 40 pounds and actually look much better now.
People talk often about how good my skin looks and how much younger I look.
Ha-ha! I don't recommend this as a face lift either.

Shoop,
You are correct; the "Atkins chemo diet" is both harsh and expensive . My hair came back the same color, but the texture changed. It had always been very coarse, but is now baby-fine . They say anything is possible with the hair you regrow after chemo, and I was hoping to look like a rock star. But alas, I still look like Ben Stein ! Regarding weight, I went from 170 to 150, and it did me a world of good.
I do my six-month blood panels in three weeks. Many people dioscuss the fear of these tests. I find that now, after over 4 years, that I am a lot less stressed, but certainly but a little tingle of fear remains. Assuming all is normal with these results, the oncologist plans to move me to one annual test.
