Please say a prayer for my buddy pal
i turned my friend on to this network when i found out he had prostate cancer - he was reluctant to join-(DENIAL)he has been receiving hormone treatment for a while and just went for his review at sloan in NY. He did not receive the dagnosis he was wishing for. his prostate numbers are gresat but its tenticles are spreading WITH LYMPH NODE INVOLVMENT. i keep telling him i dont know anything about prostate cancer and that he should join this forum. Finally i had to call his wife and have her get him a username and password. he has scheduled his surgery for two weeks from now. he is scared and unsure. he was a fighting marine who is a trrue warrior. and i keep telling him to be possitive. this is a good man who is about to go up against the beast - he fears not for himself but for his familly. i hope he joins the network and asks all the questions he has been asking me. i really wish my buddy a straight road to recovery. i am honored that i have been able to work side by side with him for the last few months and provide a little inspiration and light humor. jEFF, IF YOU HAPPENTO READ THIS" I LOVE YOU MAN"

prostate
Your friend should for sure go to the prostate forum, lots of great info. I have prostate cancer and am currently in the active surveilance mode. Most prostate cancers are very slow growing, he should get all of the pathology reports. What was his gleason score etc. Even though there is lymph node involvement there is a ton of stuff theycan do. Denis

i gave him the same advise i was given- take a week off and go enjoy yourself! he starts all his preops next week and would not consider taking a few days to go enjoy himself. I spoke to our boss and asked if he could Tell him to take a few days off. he promtly came to the jobsite and told him tpo leave and not to worry when he gets backs and to take as much time as he needs. the same as they did for me. long story short him and his wife are in vegas this weekend and all his tests start next week. surgery a week from monday. his has spread and will have an involved surgery.

Sending my best to your friend Jeff along with a suggestion. My husband had prostate cancer several years ago and opted for the robotic surgery. He was very faithful in doing his "kegel exercises" which, I believe, spared him possible problems. He used to wake and use the bathroom 4-5 times a night and now it's 1-2 times. The exercises can't hurt, please encourage your friend to try them following the surgery.
