New in town
Hello all,
I am new to this board, but not new to RCC. I am 51 years old and at age 45 discovered a lesion incidentally on one kidney. I had it removed in 2010 (2 cm, clear cell, pT1NxMx) and am receiving annual renal, CT scans, and bloodwork. NED so far. I am reminded daily of, and humbled at, my good fortune.
Although my cancer experience is limited to surgery only, I hope I can occasionally contribute to the supportive and informative discussions you all have. I certainly have learned alot in the few weeks I've been lurking! You seem like a nice bunch of people!
Happy and health New Year to you all

Hi Champers
My thoughts on just about everything in life are that we need all the information we can get . So welcome !
That is one great picture , by the way . I swear that dog is laughing !
Glad to hear that you got away with only surgery . Surgery is a big enough deal by itself though .
Frank
Uh..... wait a minute . I just had a thought . Does anyone know if dogs can use keyboards ? Maybe I made a mistake ? If I did allow me to apologize . Gooooood boy Champers !

Good Morning!
The odds of finding a cure for kidney cancer are better than the odds of the Cubs winning...or even being in...the World Series!!

Welcome to the club!
It's a great source of information and maybe more importantly, support. I am still relatively new here myself but have come to think of my fellow members, as friends. It seems I've learned something from each one of them. And not just about cancer and cancer treatments and surgery and such. I've learned how to deal. How to be strong. How not to freak out till I get all the facts...OK, so I'm still working on that one. I've learned that I am one of the lucky one's. And oddly enough, I've learned to appreciate my kidney cancer for what it was, was being the emphasis, and not fretting about what it could become...OK, so I'm still working on that one too. But, you get the point, I'm sure.
I'm happy you are NED and I hope you continue to stay that way.
Cheers!

Welcome aboard, Champers! You are right - this is a great bunch of people here. I am fairly new here as well and have found great comfort and support here (sounds like an ad for a bra company, doesn't it? But I guess it fits....they offer comfort and support and even perk you up when you are down!)
Your dog is ADORABLE, by the way!

And it seems like you have the right kind of attitude, twinthings! Learning how not to freak out until getting all the facts is so important. It's one of my personal goals too.
