something happened after the exploratory

in Head and Neck Cancer #1

Hi guys I posted earlier about how well the exploratory went and it did.Saturday felt good and very hungry but nor sure if I over did it or ate the wrong foods.Sat nite I ate some chicken and washed it down with cranberry juice.The juice stung some but thought well maybe because where pricked and probed was still very tender.Then yesterday all day long my tounge and under neath had a burning sting to it and mouth would load up with slivia.Kept spitting it out and took some med the doctor gave me for the yeast infection I got.Also feels now that my tounge has sollen abit when I talk.Anyone have any suggestions? Looks like I'll have to stay with ensure and oatmeal.

    Only advice I can give you is that if your tongue starts to swell make sure you let your doctor know.

    Sounds like....

    Sounds like your mouth is very sensitive to the acidic things right now..... I would suggest backing off from anything acidic and stick with water. It will probably take a few days to calm down. Hang in there.

    Thrush

    Thrush, a yeast infection, usually starts to clear within a day or two of the right meds. If you have any Magic Mouthwash from your doctor, that may give temporary reief.

    He gave me IC Nystatin for

    He gave me IC Nystatin for the yeast infection seems to feel alittle better.Had an accirndent alittle bit ago.My tounge kind of jerked and acciendently bit it slightly and started to blead.Seems to of has stopped now pretty sure the way it is swollen from being picked and plucked on.Getting to point I'm looking forward to surgery..

    That should do it and it sounds as if you are already seeing some improvement. You are not alone in looking forward to surgery, it always seems better once the show gets on the road. The waiting and anticipation can take their toll.
