off topic but need prayers
It has been a bit of a roller coaster ride since my daughter was born 3 weeks ago. Our 2 year old has been sick almost constantly since then which is really unusual for her. So, my hubby & I have been doing what we can to keep the two of them separate. Apparently we did not do a good enough job. My 3 week old started coughing & then having labored breathing on Thurs morning. Her pediatrician admitted hrr to the children's hospital immediately. She tested positive for RSV which is a pretty nasty respiratory virus. It looks like a bad cold in adults or older children hut is really hard on tiny babies. There is not much that can be done except give supportive therapy & wait it out.
Cora is on oxygen & IV fluids because she is working so hard to breathe that she doesn't want to eat. Her ped almost put her in the nicu this morning but her breathing calmed down enough during the day that thankfully that wasn't necessary. They will try to start waning her off of oxygen tomorrow & see how she does.
It is heart breaking to watch this & we've already been told that the symptoms can linger for weeks after the initial virus has passed so I see a lot of restless nights in my future. To top everything off, our 2 year old has been dealing with strep for 2 weeks & this morning had a severe reaction to the antibiotics she was on.
I know things are never easy with a new baby but it just feels like we are being put through the ringer & I am ready for a break & some good HEALTHY time to bond with my new little family.
And, not that I have much time to worry about it, but I'll have my first scan in about 10 months in January since we put all tests on hold while I was pregnant.
I know a lot of you are smack in the middle of treatments so maybe all of these things I'm talking about seem small but we could use all the prayers we can get right now.
I hope everyone has an amazing Christmas!

Thanks Matt! You are quite the night owl. I wish I wasn't up right now but my husband and I are taking shifts.
Prayers for your young family. It saddens me deeply anytime a child is sick. I will say prayers for Cora and your 2 year old in church this morning.
Hugs,
Candi

Meagen...
You and hubby must be exhausted with worry and lack of sleep! Sending maximum prayers and positive thoughts to Cora. She'll be the youngest one ever tucked into my pocket. I'm sending heartfelt wishes that she gets to come home soon.

sending prayers
sending prayers for your little family to be all healthy ASAP. It hurts even more when it's the littlest among us.
So, wishing you a healthy 2014 -- you guys deserve a break from all these medical issues already.
Stay the strong Mommy and Daddy that you are.

Praying for you and your wee ones.
That sounds very stressfull and hope they both are on the mend so you can get some rest and relief from the stress. Both of our daughters added grey hairs with their health crises over the years. It will pass, and
Have a peaceful and beautiful Christmas,

Sending warm & positive thoughts your way during this terribly difficult time. I understand all too well the heartbreak of watching your babies suffer.

I don't know how late I am on this...
... but I offer a prayer to you and your family:
Dear Lord, our Sister has come seeking Your grace for her family. I ask that You stretch Your hands of healing out over all members of her family - especially her children. Bless her and her family for seeking Your face in their time of need and answer our prayers that You touch their minds, bodies, and spirits with Your healing Grace. We ask in Jesus' name and thank You for hearing us.
God bless,
Jamie
