A CSN 'Twas the Night Before Christmas & The 12 Things of Cancer Such a Pain to Me ~ Sweetblood22 ~
I took the liberty to update and revisit Dawn's poem of a few years ago, and add some of the newbies that have joined the family since then...
This poem, was literally, inspired by a dream I had a couple weeks ago:
The Night Before Christmas
'Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the place
not a CSN member was stirring, not Matt, Duggie, DonFoo, or even Ratface.
Our hopes were all hung on every PET and Cat Scan
In hopes that N-E-D, soon would be there.
Shelley & Skiffin were nestled all snug in their bed
While visions of grouper danced round John's head.
And Nizzy in his lambie jammies, and I in my sweats,
Had just settled down for a long winter's rest.
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
Phrannie and Lola sprang from the bed to see what's the matter.
But TracyLynn was already there, she flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the "SASH".
The moon did glisten on the new fallen snow,
J4mie said it gave lustre to the objects below.
When, what to all our wondering eyes should appear,
Cureitall & Kreg, driving the hawg, with a trailer in tow, and spreading good cheer.
Like a clown car they were, all packed in there, thick
All CSN members, getting out quick.
More rapid than gunfire, by dozens they came
Cris whistled, and shouted, and called some by name!
"There's Hondo!, Linda!, Ingrid! Katie and T!
John G! Jamie, Marine! Diane and Don, Vivian, Rush, Pat, oh my goodness, and more...!
To the top of the porch! Knock on the door!
Now dash from my Harley! Dash away all!"
They just kept coming, into the house they poured.
People, met with many obstacles, yet they still soared.
Ron Silva had a question, but changed his mind, it threw off many, with out answers of any.
Boardwalkgirl over cancer! they shouted, and into the house they flew
With arms full of food, and of course Ensure, too!
Then in a twinkling, I heard D Lewis say so true,
"Look there's Greg53 & Steve, with cases of brew!"
Pam, looked out the window, then drew in her head.
She saw Debbie and Jim and even more members coming she said.
Big Fuzzy Doug in fur, from his head to his foot.
Hal, Dr Mary, Goalie, and look, GrandMax!
A bundle of gifts, Tony B had flung on his back.
Connie and Homer, like peddlers, had opened their pack.
The Arndogs' eyes, how they twinkled! And Steve's were merry!
Roger's cheeks, like roses, Linda's nose, like a cherry!
Hawk remembering the StarBucks in San Fran a February ago...
"Come on into the warm house!", said Hondo.
"Sweetblood's going to cook, come in out the snow!"
Denis T D was there with his new shiny teeth,
Smiled and presented to us all, a big wreath.
Adventure Bob held the door open for Robinleigh and Joel, Damon & Jessica and KTeacher, I even see Jan and Charlee.
Brian, Mick, Denis, Joe- musicians jammin; those boys got soul.
Purplemountain brought a turkey, it was chubby and plump.
Kirby is hungry, it's time for the bird. Spector, is dreaming of the food that he once ate, and soon will be indulging as well..
Roar brought a keg with a pump.. Man that brew is gonna make my belly swell, LOL.
I laughed when I saw all these people, Nizzy started to jump.
In the blink of an eye, I was off to the fridge.
With the gifts and stocked pantry, I had nothing to dread.
I spoke not a word, but went straight to my work.
Cooking up a storm, Kimba and Mark thought I was berserk.
Then more people came, the Buzz99s, Billie67 (the girl), Vikeman Randy, and Vermontgirl too .
Jcortney, LornaL, HWT, two Rush's- all needed fed!
I sprang out of the kitchen with tons of food.
Friends seated all around, and all in a good mood.
We all ate, drank, and talked. It was such a delight!
Happy Holiday Season to all, and to all a good night!
***************************************************************
Sorry, I couldn't mention everyone here, in that poem. I may have gotten about 50 or so in there, which is pretty good, I think. I wish you all a wonderful holiday season, with many blessings, for many years to come. You all mean very much to me. Raising my glass of milk, and making a toast, to each one of you. May your joys outweigh your sorrows. Cheers!
Dawn & Nizzy, too.
Merry Christmas ~ John n Shelley...

Heatwarming....
That is what I felt...warmed all over. We are a big family. Some of us walked in the door, and never left....the more independent ones have moved on with their lives, but we still think of them, and wonder how they are.
The names will change as time goes on, but that "safe" feeling we get when we first come here, will be with us always.

wonderful thoughts
Thanks John,
Quite an elaborate dream I must say! I appreciate you taking the time to reflect on the past year and remembering so many who have been on the battlefield or lucky enough to be veterans like you watching over the noobies coming in looking all the mess, totally bewilered and scared sh..less, and holding our hands and calming us down and focused ready to battle the beast.
And sadly, we remeber those whom we lost this past year and those suffering the long term and life long side effects of this horrible disease. Maybe 2014 will be the year when they find the CURE!
Merry Xmas to you and all CSNers.

Good Job!!!
You do so much for so many once they enter our little clubhouse. I personally want to thank you. Certainly my trip to Florida was based on spoiling my new grandaughter but having the chance to meet you and Shelley was right up there. The frozen yogurt was OK but I look forward to a coffee sometime. I have two oppotunities to go to Orlando for business in February but have so many other things going on at work I had to pass. We will do coffee.
I'm absolutely positive everyone feels the same.............................THANKS JOHN
Your bud just north
